Your Venus is how you love.

Venus in Aries: you are direct and upfront about what you want. Your love nature is well-developed, but your fire can burn out just as quickly as it’s ignited. Your love nature is rather me-centered, not unlike the nature of a newborn whose cries seem to say, “Hey, what about me?!”

Venus in Taurus: your needs in love are largely determined by the pleasing of your senses. The first of the earth signs, Taurus is very physical. You are sensually inclined—not sensation-oriented like Aries, but rather keenly tuned in to the world of the physical five senses. (The sixth sense belongs to the Water signs!) To understand the Venusian Taurus nature, it is helpful to think of three “S” words that Taurus values: sensuality, stability, and satisfaction.

Venus in Gemini: you look for lively relationships with plenty of activity and communication. When you are in love, you make light and witty company, even if your Sun is in a more serious sign like Taurus or Cancer. You look for a partner who can hold a real conversation. Scratch that—you want somebody who can talk about multiple subjects in a short period of time. When you’re in love, you can be a real tease! You flirt, joke, and cajole and you turn others on with the promise that love will be fun with you.

Venus in Cancer: you look for security and safety in partnership. You are the most caring and nurturing of lovers. Your lover is likely to be flattered by your excellent memory for all they say and do—in some cases, he or she could be intimidated as well! Sincerity from your partner is important to you, and you are attracted to people who you consider to be natural and genuine. You are the most intuitive of lovers, finding it easy to “read” your partner’s character and feelings. As mentioned above, this can be flattering to many, and cause for concern for others! Which, of course, is fine by you, because the ideal partner for you is comfortable in his or her own skin. Anyone threatened by your “feelers” may not be sincere enough for you!

Venus in Leo: you can be “stuck” in the first stage of romance when passions run high and you can’t seem to get each other out of your minds. You never want this stage to end! When you are in love, the relationship consumes you. You radiate the love that you receive from your partner and reverberate with the energy of love. You are ardent and affectionate with your partner. The adoration you give may not be (and probably won’t be) matched, and this is when you falter. Truth is, your lover may have a different style of expressing his/her love. It may be just as ardent as your love, but you tend to equate adoring expressions of love with love itself.

Venus in Virgo: you express love by doing things for, and fussing over, your loved one. You notice little things about your partner, make mental notes of their likes and dislikes (this may sound contrived, but it’s not—it’s simply the way you’re wired!), and genuinely try to help your lover in practical ways. You listen to what your lover has to say, and you have something sensible and intelligent to say in response! In fact, you are great at communicating about your relationship.

Venus in Libra: you have an irresistibly pleasing romantic demeanor, no matter what you look like. The sign of Libra is intimately connected with partnerships, so you are particularly sensitive to the give-and-take associated with any kind of pairing that is one-on-one. You are romantic and will spend much of your attention and focus on relationships in your lifetime. You vibrate to the concept of harmony, and peace is your ultimate goal. However, along the road to that goal, you can certainly stir a pot or two!

Venus in Scorpio: it’s all or nothing in matters of the heart. You are capable of loving deeply, and you crave intimacy. Scorpio isn’t afraid of anything, and when Venus, the planet of love, is found in this sign, love relationships are intense. Scorpio is also a sign that thrives on the crisis in order for its natives to feel alive and vital, so when it comes to matters of the heart, you are not only unafraid of getting your hands dirty, you may easily find an overly predictable relationship uninteresting.

Venus in Sagittarius: you are confident and positive in love. You associate love and relationships with adventure, learning, and growth. For the most part, you are easygoing in matters of the heart, although you are passionate and do enjoy it when things are going your way! You want to grow through your relationships, and don’t appreciate humdrum, stagnant partnerships in which you might feel caged in.

Venus in Capricorn: you are generally steadfast and deliberate in love, finding safety and comfort in all that is tried and true. You can be on the cautious side about sharing your heart, but your reliability as a partner is hard to resist for many people.

Venus in Aquarius: you don’t want to follow all the “rules” in love, preferring to love in your own way, unfettered by convention or what is “supposed” to be, or usually, done. You are future-minded, a tad unconventional (in love, anyhow) and there’s an unmistakable “free spirit” in you that shows up most obviously in matters of the heart. This is not to say you can not—or will not—fall in love. Infatuations happen easily, but true love can be a little elusive for you. When you do make a commitment, you are generally able to stick to it. The commitment you make generally has to be a little different in order to be tolerable to you, and you are proud of that difference. Following the beaten track simply doesn’t sit well with you.

Venus in Pisces: you love tenderly and compassionately. You are a peacemaker at heart, and your sensors are so strong that you pick up as much as possible, and perhaps more, from your partner. You have a sense of humor in love, although you have your shares of ups and downs, as you are a very sensitive person. Harshness bothers you. Wistfulness is almost as natural to you as breathing when it comes to love. No matter how you approach other areas of your life, there is a romantic side of you. You crave making a connection with a person—many would call it a deep connection, but spiritual is a better word, as your ideal love rises above rather than plunges below the mundane world.
