Words words words.

Words are easy. What has your partner actually done for you lately? What action, not or comment, have they done to let you know you are loved or valued. And equally important, what have you done as well. Relationships are a two-way street. It’s easy to say ’I love you’, but sadly words lose all meaning after a while if they aren’t backed with genuine actions. Take a moment and think. What have you done? Don’t hide behind excuses, you aren’t that busy and yes you are that creative. Stop rationalizing, stop justifying. It’s about priorities. Too often relationships wither and die, buried under mountains of good intentions and words. It doesn’t have to be a grand expensive gesture, a heartfelt love note, hand-picked flowers, a brown bagged lunch, or an unexpected visit. Anything to show, not just tell, show you that you are important. We live in a world where image seems more valuable than truth. The struggle seems more like failure and vulnerability more like weakness. And words somehow are good enough. They aren’t. You’re worth more than a or two. If your presence isn’t appreciated then perhaps your absence will be. Know your worth and adjust accordingly.
