A candle burned on the table: playing with wax - how not to get burned…

Do you want something hotter? Wax play is a popular BDSM trend, which today has spread not only to those in the Topic. Candle games can be a great way to spice up your bed games … or end up with a trauma center. Let’s talk about how to light the fire of passion in it and not get burned.

What is wax play This is the direction of BDSM when the “upper” drips from the candle onto the exposed areas of the skin of its “lower”: stomach, chest, even intimate parts of the body. In-flight, the wax cools down and gets on the skin already warm, not hot. Often, such games are made in contrast, adding a little ice to them.

Safety Precautions There are enough dangers in the wax play. True, if you decide to experiment and everything goes as planned, you will come back to it again and again. Take only paraffin candles. Let’s remember the school physics course. The meaning of this “game” is to cool the drop in flight. The melting point of wax is significantly higher than that of paraffin. Paraffin has the lowest melting point.
Church and table candles can cause burns and allergic reactions, but the most dangerous is beeswax. Don’t buy expensive candles. For the same reason: they usually have wax in them. Paraffin candles are the simplest and cheapest, so they will also protect your wallet.

Try it for yourself first. A rule familiar to anyone who is in the Topic: do not try anything on others that you have not experienced on yourself. Start at the maximum distance allowed - usually 90 cm to 1 meter, slowly closing the distance between the hot end and the skin. It is better to drip on the lower part of the forearm. Never drink alcoholic beverages while doing this. You have to hold a candle - your hands must be very firm.

Burns. Keep ice on hand. Even if all the rules are followed, burns may appear, there is nothing you can do about it. Avoid getting paraffin in your eyes, hair, and open wounds.

Remember the final part of the game. The paraffin cools and hardens and must be removed. Sometimes together with the hairline. Some people like it, others don’t, and you need to think about how you will remove warm paraffin in advance. Think about how you will clean it all up. Note to the hostess: wax is very difficult to remove from the parquet, if you play in bed, it is better to lay an unnecessary sheet.

Do not use gel candles in any way. They contain chemicals that can cause both irritation and chemical burns to the skin.

How to drip There are several ways to properly drip paraffin onto the body. Usually the “top” holds the candle horizontally and rotates it, allowing the melted paraffin to melt evenly and drip onto the skin. With this option, you can easily vary the speed of falling paraffin: lower or raise the lit end, that is, balance the candle as you need it. Another option is to “accumulate” liquid wax in the funnel of a burning candle, and then lift and release the funnel from the accumulated paraffin.

Remember that this is a dangerous game and be extremely careful. Contrasting games Very often lovers like to play in contrast - adding cold to hot. For these purposes, ice is perfect, which you can apply to areas where the wax has just been. Instead of ice, there can be a towel soaked in cold water or even a cool bottom of a glass. Whatever you do in bed, the main thing is to always remember about safety…

    Quoting mstraesop53:
In these days of COVID19 do not use hand sanitisor before lighting candles.

Texas woman who lit a flame after using hand sanitizer suffers severe burns
    2-3 minutes

A Texas mom suffered severe burns in a rare incident involving hand sanitizer and an open flame, according to local media reports.

The local Round Rock Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire. Spokesperson Will Hampton told PEOPLE that Kate Wise was transported to a nearby Austin hospital with burns on 18% of her body. Local media reported that Wise was lighting a candle near the hand sanitizer.

"[The hand sanitizer] just lit my hand with fire," Wise told KHOU-TV.

"It obviously went all over my face. And, in like a matter of five seconds, my whole body was just consumed in flames."

Hampton and safety experts stress fire safety when using hand sanitizer.

“Hand sanitizer is flammable,” said Hampton. “This stuff is at least 62 percent alcohol, so folks need to be careful.”

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), fires caused by hand sanitizers are very uncommon — but the dangers of flammability are recognized.

"[Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizer] contains ethyl alcohol, which readily evaporates at room temperature into an ignitable vapor, and is considered a flammable liquid," according to CDC guidance.

"Although the incidence of fires related to ABHS is very low, it is vital that ABHS is stored safely."

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, when hand sanitizer is being used and stored more than ever, the U.S. First Responders Association (USFRA) published a fire safety video in April.

The video explained that, because most hand sanitizer gives off enough vapor to ignite in air at or slightly below room temperature, "it only needs an ignition source, like a flame from a candle, to ignite."

Although ignition is scary, the USFRA also added that individuals should not be worried about using hand sanitizer — since fires are so uncommon — and, like the CDC, encouraged greater care when storing the liquid.

Fact check:Alcohol-based hand sanitizers will not spark car fires

Thank you so much.

This is obviously not an activity for the newbie. It should be practiced with someone very skilled in the knowledge of using wax. When done correctly it is an amazing feeling for both dom/me and sub.
