Quote de Sade

“When she’s abandoned her moral center and teachings…when she’s cast aside her facade of propriety and lady-like demeanor…when I have so corrupted this fragile thing and brought out a writhing, mewling, bucking, wanton for my enjoyment and pleasure…. enticing from within this feral lioness…growling and scratching and biting…taking everything I dish out to her…...at that moment she is never more beautiful to me.”

— Marquis de Sade

"Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”

… and that’s a great quote, by the way. Thank you for sharing it!

It’s funny- I’ve written before about how I don’t much care for de Sade. It’s like we visit the same galleries, find the same pieces compelling, and can have a civil discussion about their merits and beauty through time, but relate to the pieces very differently. Ultimately, it’s why I don’t care to be labeled a Sadist. It may seem a subtle point, but it’s far from- where he sees an abandoning of a moral center I see the uncovering of a true one, and where he sees corruption and darkness I see light. … the same creature, the same mouth-watering state, the same beauty, and a sense of possession no less profound or complete, but so bright as to dispel any shadows. I know this isn’t universal, but in the setting and acceptance of my collar, at least, there should be no hint or sense of the abandonment of what is proper; the exchange is the giving up of everything improper- the unleashing of a hunger for an edifying consumption that is nothing if not right.

It is a wonderful quote and goal to aim for ....

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw

One of those unattainable goals that are nevertheless wonderful to imagine achieving.

Evil . . actually is not something real. .
Evil is simply an absence of decency and good . .
When I take you to that place in your mind and in mine . .
Decency and good will have scurried into the corner . .
It is the beast, the demon that you bow beneath . .
to offer your unsated hunger to . . We come from a
dark abyss . . We end in a dark abyss. And we call
the shadow between them . . Life.
