Love What does it mean to love somebody? what does it look like? Is it flowers and date nights? Is it surprise gifts? Gushy notes and holding hands? Changing your status on social media? What does it mean to really love another person? Sincerely love them. Is it putting up with their change in moods or accepting that not every day will be filled with laughter. Is it working harder when things get tough rather than jumping ship? Is it more about energy and communication? Is it tied more to trust and support? What does it mean to love another person so deeply you couldn’t imagine your life without them? Can you love another person without expectations and obligations? Unconditionally? Can you love another and still be free and encouraged them to be so too? Love is something different for every single one of us. It can lift you up and it can cripple you. It can be born from years of friendship and it can arrive out of left field. No matter where it comes from, how it looks, there are a few consistencies. It is connection. It is honest. Love is immeasurably powerful. And love isn’t a product to be bottled up and shelved, it isn’t a destination that once found is then neglected, it is a full-time job, a livelihood you work at daily.
