Safewords. • Safewords should be determined during negotiations, clothed, before any play takes place. • They should be something clear and concise, something easy to remember. • Basic and generally accepted safewords are RED, MERCY, SAFE. • Begging is not a safeword, stop is not a safeword. • There are such things as non-verbal safewords: a drop, finger snap, or hand gesture. • Remember to check in: are you with Me? Do you remember your safeword? • Use the finger spread method to let your Top know how much distress you’re in: the wider the fingers are spread the more intense the pain. "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.” |

Where would we be without Safewords? "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”

I like rosaenaluin's method "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”

I won't play with a partner without a safeword. As a Sadist, we are already taking on the risk of law enforcement with each session. To me, at the very least, having safewords is required. Even with both my current and former wife we used safewords. I get that there are those who choose not to use them. That is their choice. To me, it just shows bad judgment. I can't afford to associate with people in the lifestyle with bad judgment. This is one of the reasons I haven't done public play sessions or taught public impact classes in the last almost 10 years. The risk profile of being at an event or a location where law enforcement gets involved due to someone doing something incredibly stupid is too high these days. I've seen too many people engaging cavalierly in very dangerous edgeplay with no training or experience. Anyways, that is just me... "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”

I learned the trafic light system. Works great, for me. Green = go on, i like it Orange = uhm...getting a bit heavy... maybe change the ritm, place of attention, something like that. Red = stop. All. Action, get the s- type out of what ever you were doing, give something to drink, if wanted, and TALK about what happened. reassure everything is good. In a M/s dynamic, they sometimes dont have a safeword, ( anymore) because, they know each other in such a way, the s-type has soo much trust, they dont need it. Or dont want it.... Even so, a safeword means nothing, if the d type dont listen, respect it.. It all depends on the dynamic, they are in. I also agree that if you are with someone long enough safewords are no longer used. ( Not the case with me) Thank you for sharing. "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”

When I went for physical therapy for my hand, someone asked me a question about my therapist. I replied, "She was so good I needed a safeword". What amazed me was the person knew what a safeword was. [image]

My favorite safeword is Mercy. It says stop but doesn't break the mood as Banana does [image]

Responsibility lies on both sides of the slash. "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”
