J, I would love to catch "Girl From The Noth Country". There's a great cover of that song by Noah Gundersen and David Ramirez - Girl from the North Country You should definitely check it out. I love Bob Seger. I hope this note finds you well, J. ~xxM I searched all over the web and YouTube for The Gundersen/Ramirez cover without success. Maybe I need a divining rod...

Love, love, love it. I was listening to Bruce Hornsby, "Mandolin Rain" last night. I think it would have fit in this nicely.  "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this. She’s offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.”

Great list, M. I love storytellers.  The Hurricane provided the plot for the musical "Girl From the North Country" based on Dylan's songs that I saw at the Public Theater off Broadway a few years ago. It's on the road and playing at the Kennedy Center in DC now. Well worth seeing if it comes to your town. I used to always ask the piano player at my favorite Tokyo club to play Piano Man while I nursed my tonic and gin. That was just when karaoke was catching on. It usually got some of the patrons to join me for the chorus (which the piano player may have appreciated since it generally got him an extra round of tips). Sadly, the club is now gone. Bob Seger's Main Street is also a nice little storyteller song (well maybe just the story of my life until I got better at my Night Moves  ). Chuck Berry's You Never Can Tell might be worth an honorable mention, especially as enhanced by Uma Thurman and John Travolta. I would love to catch "Girl From The Noth Country".
