I will recommend "The Surrender" by ballerina Toni Bentley. It is an autobiography of a woman who needs anal sex from her man. While it is erotic it is also very educational on the notion of submission and, of course, surrendering to a lover or to a sexual act.

I have a small liberary of sm and or kink books. My one time favorite is in Dutch, original in German. Writing by; Sina-Aline Geibler.... * "Onderdanig wil ik zijn" it is especially about Masochistic submissives. It was The One book, i could identify with, finally, as a masochistic submissive. *Partners in Power, living in kinky relationships, by Jack , he wrote some other books, too, about living the power dynamic structure within a M/s relation. *It is not about the whip, by Sensuous Sadie, love, sex and the spirituality in the bdsm scene. And two, you also mentioned; Different Loving too, Real People, Real lives, Real BDSM,by Dr.Gloria G. Brame with William Brame And, The loving dominant, by John Warren, PH.D. Great list!!

Nice additions. I also recommend reading any Jack Rinella. He has great historical references. You will find that in his books and his presentations, he debunks the BS about "old Guard" that so many newer folks claim to be such. They generally do not know what it really was. Jack lived it.
