The Farm Part 1 What the hell i thought as the winding country road in Maine turned to dirt. I arrived that morning at Logan Airport in Boston picked up my rental car and headed out for Lewiston Maine for a week long visit with my best friend from college. My husband Mark told me that i deserved a vacation and that he would watch the for the ten days that i would be gone. Julie my BFF was expecting me four days from now. I grew up in New England and wanted to take some extra time to enjoy the sights and bring back old memories. I decided to go off the beaten path and took an exit on Interstate 95 for some scenic country viewing, which brings me to where the hell am i now. The old country road that i was on was so quiet and peaceful with occasional Cape Cod houses and scattered farms. The peace and solitude i was feeling now had a little concern creep in, as the road became much more narrow and had potholes as large as moon craters. Great now the damn GPS wasn't working and my phone had no signal. I must be out in the country now I thought. There was no place to turn around so i forged forward hoping the road would bring me back to civilization. Even with the AC on full i was beginning to perspire and felt beads of sweat on my forehead and drops trickle down between my breasts. Keep calm I kept telling myself. After about five miles or more I spotted a run down farm with junk cars in the yard and all kinds of trash in the yard. I must be at the dump I giggled. I pulled into the yard and was greeted by a chicken and a very dirty man in his forties with a weathered face and missing front teeth. I rolled down my window "Hi "i said i am so glad to see you. I think i am really lost. "You are on privater property" he scolded as his eyes focused on my legs where my damn beige skirt had lifted too high. "I sorry i just need to turn around and get back to the main road" Where ya headin' I am going to visit a friend in Lewiston When she expectin ya? Soon I said beginning to think something was not right. Get outta the car Excuse me Get outta the fuckin car I started to roll my window up to get the hell out of there I wouldn't do that if i were you he said as he pointed to the passenger side window. I looked and saw a younger version of the farmer pointing a shotgun at me with the barrel against the window. Open the fuckin door and get out he screamed I slowly opened my door when he reached in a grabbed me by the hair and dragged me out causing me to land in the muddy driveway. Get up you bitch he growled I staggered to me feet. Confused and frightened by this situation Junior he said to the younger man take her in the house ad have Ma fix her up. Come on Junior said as he grabbed my arm and took me inside. |
