The 90s porn thing going strong today! Hello all, We are confused. Shaving the pubic region.... Why? It is not for cleanliness (it is actually cleaner and better to keep it natural for a lot of reason!). Pubic hair is not dirty. You can still get crabs if you are shaved. Other STDs are transmitted better if you are shaved. Pubic hair promotes better pregnancy attempts. Not shaving frees about an hour a week to do something else. How many people have bought into the 90s porn trend to shave your pubic region? Why did those porn stars? Platinum blond was the in-thing! If you were not that (well, nobody was!), then you got some peroxide and went to town on your head. However, do that to all your hair, you had to peroxide your eyebrows and pubic hair (make sure the collars and cuffs match - thank you James Bond). To peroxide your pubic hair and eyebrows hurt and was a pain. Therefore, these porn stars shaved their pubic hair to hide the fact that they were not blond. Sad really; natural also looks better. Who wants to see a prepubeent sight associated with sex? A woman is supposed to have hair there. It does not get in the way. Oh well. Still confused! Robert and sarah |

Sorry I was apparently inarticulate. What the 90s porn stars did filtered to regular folks in the last of the 90s. Women were never dressed that way for 10,000s of years. I prefer being hairless everywhere below the eyebrows. it's a personal choice. I don't see it as a porn thing -- it's a modern thing. Even men are taking personal grooming seriously. Plus I enjoy my spa day...waxing and polishing and massaging..

You are misconstruing my want not to look at pre-pubecent looking woman with being right or wrong. Also, I no longer need to practice for the coming Hitler so my sarcasm today is mis-placed (but wasn't when I wrote it). Everybody is allowed an opinion. I gave facts for my opinion. My only concern is the capitalistic system: did the manscaping products come first or the want of a man to scape? The data is showing that the products came first! and they came from 90's porn. Don't read more into that than is there.

How is it prepubescent? It's worrisome that that is what comes to your mind!!! I'm not sure how someone would confuse a grown woman with a preteen just because her pubes are shaven. Are smooth legs prepubescent? Shaved underarms? Waxed upper lips?

Actually yes. In my humble opinion. However, I understand if the woman is uncomfortable with hairy legs and armpits. I am not saying that societal norms are screwed up - wait, I am; however each person has their own "norms". My norms are not to see altered body hair or even just body modifications. Looking at the same sight as a prepubesent girl is abhorrent to me. My little girls understand that and conform to my norms. If they didnt understand that, then they wpuldnt bevmy little girls. Yes, I am a flaming liberal, bur 'norms' don't mean shit! I hate it when 'norms' are used to control people. You are trying to control me when I express my opinions. I am commenting on WHY these "norms" are good and my "norms" are bad. Porn stars created the shaving aspect to hide haor color even though they didn't change their eyebrows and the fact that platinum isn't a color of blond. Then WHY did that behavior start to permeate society. I see it as try to look prepubesent. Give me REAL arguments that I am look at this from the wrong direction. A hint: you can't. I saw the fist pic or two with pubic hair, and yes I then had to look at them all. There are times when I think I'm the only one that recognizes the beauty and the benefit of keeping the hair. Thanks for so many lovely pics.
