to my mother who has dementia

i watch my mum who has dementia,and i get scared ,will i be like her.I watch my mum and i grieve,for were is my mummie. I watch my mum and i see her smiling ,because everything is new too her,because she has forgotten she has already seen it ...and she is happy........i watch my mum

I got the same thing going on with mine. Not too bad yet but repeating herself a lot. Seems that the short term memory isn't what it used to be but she can remember shit from many years ago no problem. Still sad to see though.

In the apartment building I live in and in the neighborhood, I've seen a lot of people get old, get senile and die along the decades.

It's very sad to watch a bright, lively woman turn into a husk, unable to speak or recognize her friends.

Now men are "lucky": they usually die before their mind goes.
