Is alt finally winding up as a website?

 I'm noticing a lot lately, where members are complaining that alt won't accept their credit card details to make payment for a full account. Why would this be so? I guess all we as outsiders can do is speculate, but there are costs involved in running this site, and with the few who do pay dwindling at an alarming rate, one would think they would take what they can. However, this would also mean that they would be obliged to maintain the service paid for, and some countries consider internet payments are all made in the buyers home, and as such the site becomes liable in many countries where the service is offered. This could be a minefield of litigation for them, so are they merely winding down until there are no paid customers left?

I guess time will tell.

 In order to get top dollar
from advertisers they need
as many "members" as
possible. By not charging
to be a "member" they build
up that number and can
charge more to advertisers.

 Mate with things opening up a bit in other countries now, people are getting back to work and play, especially in the northern hemisphere. Let it go 3 months and see, but I have been watching this site creep ever further down the sink hole now for 6 years, and apart from buying the odd points every now and then, there is NO way I am giving these arseholes any more good dollars, to cop shit service.
