Society was evil and they wouldn't let it out. I continued reading the Holographic Universe and my thoughts would wander and things I found on the internet filled me with dread. It seemed now that this book was one of prophesy and maybe even invention as its progress pointed towards there being a diagram on the final page of a contraption that couldn't be built back in the 90's when the book was written and it could only be theorized about how it would work. It reminded me of when doc complained about the part he needed would not be available till some time in the future and Marty stuttered with the word sche-sche-shematics. The book talked about the work of Bohm and the book he wrote and he noticed many things wrong with established thought and he learnt enough to make dire predictions about where the human race was inextricably headed. One experiment Bohn liked was where a drop of ink was inserted into a fluid that was placed in a round glass container with a winding handle located in the center and you could wind it up dispersing the ink through the material and then unwind it to again finish up with a single drop. This gave Bohm an idea of how the Universe could work and that every electon was accounted for and in its rightful place and if you knew the program that created the universe you could theoretically wind it back and forth. He also put his thinking to entangled particles saying that from the Universes standpoint there was only one particle in two different locations and there was no need to find any physical connection. Now readers in the present have the advantage of comparing thee findings to what we know now and some bright minds are okay with Bohm's assumptions. They would add that the same game and plots could be carried out with a mutiple of different players and you're just one who inhabits your life. A modern idea is that the universe that we know of is not big enough to contain the information generated by it, which points perhaps to a bigger space out there. I will leave you with a direct quote from the book that to me is like the kind of poetic slant on technological garble used to good effect in a song. "Most mind boggling of all are Bohm's fully developed ideas about wholeness. Because everything in the cosmos is made out of the seamless holographic fabric of the implicate order and ultimately even the implicate and explicate orders blend into each other." Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered! |

While we wait for that contraption to be built we can gauge natures progress by watching the shee golfers on utube. The we can quietly slip into better place. Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered!

Being a golfer and a research engineer using physics to make reality..... While a nice book and theory you are reading about a holographic universe, along with super symmetry, super gravity string theory, variable speed of light related to the stretch (tension) of expanding space, blah, blah ,blah..... We can't prove ANY OF THEM! All we can do is show that on the large scale, Einstein wins. On the small scale, Dirac/Schrödinger/de Broglie/Pauli/Heisenberg/Bohr win. The PHILOSOPHY of quantum mechanics is just that. Non-provable. Multiverse (with respect to the Chronicles of Riddick), Bohr, continuum, math is reality, etc...... Non-provable. Nice philosophy but not much more. Sorry, I'm an engineer and it it can't help me make a widget, then it is nice conversation over wine and maybe fisticuffs.

Forgot, the women's golf photos are about?

The multiverse theory is just a theory without any experimental evidence, yes, but filling out that theory may tell us a lot about this universe. My freshman college physics teacher once pointed out that two Nobel prizes were awarded in physics based on "trivial" possibilities in relevant mathematics based on theory.

good stuff, thanks for posting. Certainly food for thought.

I live very close to the launch pads here in FL. Every time a launch occurs I look to the heavens and wonder just what that big bang was like.
