What could go wrong? The doc had figured it out enough to build a prototype. It would be the machine that would cross time barriers. The escape I needed. Cities had become boring places and according to Weinberg people were getting dumber. The moon lander hit one of its feet on a rock and tipped over, with no way to right itself. It got a good look at the dirt though. We'd make the craft dance like an electron and that gave me a couple of ideas. We could name the craft the 'Electron' and change a songs lyrics to "I'm so excited doing the 'Electron' dance". I played computer games with the schizophrenic b&y . He loved smashing stuff and if we did get the craft working I wondered if he wanted to come. He had premonition about the alien invasion that was a hot topic amongst clairvoyants. It would surely happen they warned! So maybe it was the perfect time to get out. To build a new life in the distant future perhaps. I wondered if people would make it. So much against them. I imagined the future would look like that place in the movie 'The time machine' All you had to do was knock a few Morlocks on the head and the place would be yours.  Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered!  |
