Eli and light sabers. Firstly an end was seen by some early in the 70's. That civilization would find itself in a hole when the pressure on natural/non-natural resources would become stretched to a limit. Well I found a book early that gave me some hope, and in it it described a high tech civilization existing in a rural scenery. The book was about Edgar Cayce and one vision seemed to right the ship. Some turmoil to get through yes (starting this year?) but a new way would emerge. But what do we know about the coming apocalypse? The book of Eli (the movie) taught us that guns were carried empty, that bullets were hard to get. Your weapon should be rechargeable, like your ipod. By the Sun, that way you're independent. Really the Book of Eli should have had more self made weapons to be accurate. People are resourceful afterall and will make weapons from just scrap laying around. Books may offer protection but does a book put you in God's favor? If God descended on you and gave you a gift then perhaps that is so ! I do not know. All I ever really sought was a quiet place to indulge in that peace. The locals had got mean and shrewd over a long period of time and would shred you to pieces if you took the wrong side. Then as the cities began to fall into a dystopian lifestyle that had no room for grandchildren the ones who could made a move from it and now I'm seeing that and they built a group that were well meaning and didn't take any notice of the old "sticks in the mud" types who would rot in hell before they'd join any goodwill group and lay down their bitter grudges. Seriously all you could do was tell them to F*off !! Mean and meagre they were, penny pinching, always on the lookout for a "salmon". An easy touch !!! One who worked in a bank broadcasted from a high hill about how much each had in the bank ! It was farcical what they got away with. But I did find a good few at the mechanics institute and some of them had escaped the city. Now a whole gang of bikies chose the quiet place to setup. Maybe clubs and wars to follow, who knows? Soon a breeding ground of 'Mad max's' would be scrounging an ancient land looking for fuel caches. The new Prius looks good by the way. Looks like the way to go for reliability style and fuel economy.  Surely the vehicle best for an apocalypse. Sunroof to pop if you need someone to stick their head out with a machine gun! So anyway now before the sh&it hits the fan I'm retracing my steps, visiting my roots and catching up with a thinning quantity of souls who shared those early days with me. We were full of questions and now we'd rejoin to share what we'd found as answers. That the day right now with its glorious sunshine i as good as back then only time was now not in our favor. Time was now short, to get our 'house' in order ! It was painful to see how vulnerable the young now were! No one letting them in on the threat that loomed !         Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered!  |
