The sacred Paradox (Not written by me) But still awesome A Master is not someone merely revels in the benefits that he reaps from the power and control that he wields over his sub. A Master is not just an automaton emotionally doles orders and watches with amusement as his minions perform his bidding. A Master is not a person only relishes the benefits that his superior status entitles him. Certainly all of these characteristics could and often do exist within a Master. He may be demanding and at times selfish. He may genuinely enjoy and even be aroused by the power that he has over a sub. He may be able to expertly control his emotions, issuing his commands and enforcing his discipline with stone-faced determination. But a true Master, is so invested in his sub that he is actually in a way a slave himself. He is a slave to his love for her. He is a slave to his responsibility. He is a slave to the passion and the commitment. He is a slave to his overwhelming desire to protect his property at all costs. He is a slave to his slave. She knew without questions that he loved her so much he'd literally lay down his life for her. He owned her, and his ownership owned him. |

Happy Valentines's Day to one and all ! Appreciate the perspective you presented. It would seem to expand upon what you have said, would require a nuance approach as opposed to the belief ( held by some ) that all a successful alternative relationship requires is adhering to a " golden " set of rules. The real success is found in the power exchange and the meeting of needs between a sub and a dom. They make their relationship golden or special for themselves and in time realize the effort they invest in their relationship, provides them with the rewards no vanilla relationship can create for themselves. It is the goal that many of us strive for, but precious few achieve. Namaste'.

The title says 'not written by me'. Don't be a dick It may resonate with her, but there are many bloggers who post sentiments that are other's, they admit it. Not being a dick at all. If anyone wants to read the original work then they should be told where to find it.

"But a true Master, is so invested in his sub that he is actually in a way a slave himself." These are profound words and very true. The coin has two sides, yet it is one. A Master who cannot understand the reciprocal nature of who we are, that man is not a master.
