Trump..and the troops

I read an article on yahoo where the governor of ny openly bashed the ,mayor of nyc and threatened to superseed his power.

Why? Apparently the governor isnt happy with the police response to the protestors...saying the police are being overrun and cant stop the looting/ rioting.

Yet both men will eagerly bash trump for wanting to bring troops into cities to end the riots..

Huh??? What the difference between the national guard and the army...both have military uniforms,weapons,vehicles..

Both can potentially shoot protestors.. why is one cool to have in a city but the other is seen as dangerous.

It almost seems like alot of this protesting is politically motivated..perhaps funded...kinda funny how protesters magically just appeared in the rich sections of town.
Like a cop killed a black man so lets target beverly hills???

And i serious think some governmental officials luv the riots because they wish to tie racism to..duhh trump..

They dont want to end the protest....but they could easily doby..
Duhh bringing in the troops

And for this trump is...a bad guy???

This isnt protesting...its looting, burning, shooting at police in st louis,

There's an act - the 1878 Posse Commitas Act which bars the US president from deploying US troops on US soil in the manner you suggest.

Trump could though only do this if he invokes the 1807 Insurrection Act, which would mean tnat there was a national uprising or similar and would require a request from the governor of the state in question. He could only over-ride an objection in limited conditions, Eisenhower did so when integrating black students at Little Rock in 1957, but then the state in question completely ignored a federal law and Eisenhower took over the National Guard. Currently several state governors have said that they do not want Trump to deploy federal troops on their soil in the manner you suggest, so he does not have the power.

It would though be amusing to see all those second amendment fanatics justify what would amount to dictatorial action by Trump - I keep hearing that this crowd want guns to protect themselves from a dictatorial head of state. I wonder if they'd turn out to fight US soldiers if Trump orders their deployment?

    Quoting 1uncommondom:
If you don't know the differenced
between the Nat'l Guard and the
Army you should be reading not
    writing!
The Nat'l Guard responds to national
emergencies. They are used to keep
U.S. citizens safe, no used against them.
The U.S. Army can only be used against
U.S. citizens following the declaration of
"martial law" described in the "Insurrection Act".
However the declaration of martial law
suspends the U.S. constitution and all
state and local governments and laws.
Martial law would in effect be the federal
gov't declaring war on U.S. citizens.
The restrictions of the Insurrection Act
require the "federalization of the National
Guard but that would deprive U.S. citizens
of their constitutional rights . . and you're
    worried about some looting?
The war powers act prohibits the president
from committing U.S. troops to armed conflict
    without congressional approval, thank god!
You are unusually well informed. "The war powers act prohibits the president
from committing U.S. troops to armed conflict
without congressional approval, thank god!" yet I somehow feel he and his cronies will ignore this.
