Mask are now the miracle cure for the corona..note the sarcasm Its odd that companies now requiring..or people bitch one way or another about wearing.. a mas Like amc theathers based out of kc.. watch a movie And your now requirred wear a mask ..i for one can not wear a mask that long due my severe sinus problems. It makes it very hard breathe And for some they actually believe masks help stop the spread or gives the whole community this natural herd like immunity.. But then they will go to protest with over a thousand people, they will go to political rallies,they will go to movies with tons of other people..or to funerals..with 500 people. But hey..they good..joe biden is wearing his mask People..people..people..masks dont help...unless your wearing a proper one that is fitted correctly. There is a reason those health care workers all have marks on their faces. We all seen the pics of the pretty ,exhausted young nurse with the cuts on her nose etc from the protective tight gear, You on the other hand are wearing homemade ones and bandanas. You might as well donn the bird costume of the plague doctors You can go to your hair stylist..you both can be wearing mask and yes you can get covid 19.. It's really about keeping your distances and avoiding large crowds. My home made mask doesnt protect me from corona And i doubt it is protecting you.. Most people bitched about wearing a mask and it fogging up their glasses..er its not on tight enough and defeats any minute protection you have. And i doubt most people wear a tight mask And no im not anti mas. Im saying your being dupped into thinking its safe to go to the movies or fly in a plane because everyone is wearing a do rag. A piece of cloth meant to stop sweat or blow your nose is now magically transformed in a n 95 mask??? Yet we all good..let me just sit in a plane with like 50 people for hours.. cause that dude next To me has a bandana covering his face. Thank God Companies are requiring mask To save their own ass from lawsuits..it has nothing do with you. And no im not saying you need To become like fauchi and bury yourself in your house for the next year.. But your mask is giving you a false sense of security.. Look at the way college football teams are isolating themselves. At ku everyone is wearing a mask on<b> campus. </font></b>But alot of programs are reporting 16 -20 cases of new positive test for corona for the football players Why? The athletes all hang out together,eat together,playing video games together, hell they probably have their own dorm. You all can wear mask 24/7.. but that isnt gonna stop covid if you all are constantly hanging out,not observing social distancing etc |

People please note that we are dealing with an infectious disease here. Healthcare workers arent wearing the typical surgical mask which is meant to prevent the patient from getting a staph infection. They are wearing gloves,face shields or protective goggles,n95 filtered mask etc. So i honestly dont understand how stores like menards or amc think me wearing the dollar mask i can purcase if i dont have one.. Is helping anyone...if's a fucking infectious airbourne pathogen. That paper mask is for show. Its science...can we agree to actually use science and stop fear mongering.. And no im not buying the argument that its better than nothing. Cause it's not. Sitting in a movie theather for two plus hours with even 30 people wearing mask wont protect you. Your safer just not going

What you are saying is mostly true. Even N95 only gets 95% of the particles that are 0.3 microns or larger. The corona virus size varies from 0.06 to 0.14 microns. (several sources say the size is 0.125 microns) Big difference between 0.30 microns and 0.14 microns.. As you can see the virus is more than 2 times smaller. Even if your are wearing an N95, it is not going to keep the virus out. But since the virus is usually propelled by breathing, talking, sneezing or coughing and rides along with water droplets, most of the water borne virus is captured on the surface of the masks. This is where the social distancing comes in. Staying more that 6 feet apart is much safer. 10 or more feet is better. There is some protection by the N95 mask. Only a real respirator that filters the air by passing it through hepa filters is going to give you about 99.9% protection. These type respirators are hard to wear for extended periods and will tax your breathing.

Thanks for the explanation. But it furthers my point. Mask arent effective and give the mere illusion of safety

A mask is primarily to protect other people from you. No expert is claiming it's 100%,. But it does considerably reduce the risk which means less people sick, less deaths, and less strain on our hospitals. It's not an illusion saving thousands of lives. Stop dissing science and facts people. Science saves lives.
