I will preface this by saying yes i did vote for obama initially. I honestly have no problem with the man/ his wife/ family.. And i feel like political differences can be put aside..lets grab some beer and enjoy a game. So i was dumbfounded to hear the bedrock of the dnc... Walking back a comment that offended some snowflakes.. Huh? Obama went on trevor noah/ daily show and tried to explain his comment that defunding the police is stupid. Why? And this is why obama needs to be in the walk back hall of fame He plays the race card ( stay with me people). Obama claimed that defunding the police could be a hotbutton issue for the election.. Obama said he knows white people like michelle's mom who act out of fear...defund the police? Then who are you gonna call when someone kicks in your back door.. That is how white people think. (Your boy suggest a s&w 9 mm with a 15 clip..goddamn that gun pulled your pants down.. illegal AF now w/ o crimped mag..God i luved the 90s) Cause kick my back door door...and this is what white people think. Obama actually said blacks need to keep on point...this isnt about eliminating the police... (Insert cringe)..trying my best to not roll my eyes.. ..its about getting social workers called to a crisis rather than calling the cops.. I swear to God obama said this.. Defunding the police really means union busting and removing said protections. Kinda funny hearing that from the dnc A bonus And for all those foreign readers that wonder why americans need guns... Ask the teacher that was holding a zoom teaching session..some dude broke into her house with a knife. Probably would have been..( on zoom no less..you can hear the back door glass shattering) if she didnt have germ shep and an even more aggressive great dane. And a huge male neighbor that responded to her cries and tackled the dude. So what happens if she had no dogs....and the police budget is defunded... If she has no gun...well. How will a social worker help??

So you have basically explained why I feel way safer travelling any where but in the States. We have travelled a fair bit around the world and always feel safer some where besides the States. In HonChi Minh, any where in that city or any where in that country, or in Lima Peru outside of the tourist zone is safer than the States. Even the month spent floating down the Amazon river was safer than the States. Another country we spent a month in was Nicaragua where once people found out we were Canadian, were treated like family. Way safe there, any where. In the States, maybe due to your movies or by people like you, we do not feel safe, especially camping. Your border patrol got upset with us for having a knife in the truck. Ya lot's of reasons to let the States isolate themselves from the rest of the world. Just you do have a beautiful country, but ugly hearted people. Carry your guns and kill each other, we do not care. But countries like Vietnam, Peru, or Nicaragua care because your CIA or who ever has fucked them right up. That's why I can travel safely over there, you, not so much.

I'm confused by your post. So Obama said "defunding the police" (it's a poor choice of words) isn't about eliminating police funding, protection or union busting. It's more about putting resources (not taking funding away from police) into systems to deal with acute mental health crises the police officers aren't trained to deal with. And that white folk (like you) could misinterpret the phrase to mean loss of law enforcement protections. Many blacks feel like the police don't protect them anyway so they don't aren't concerned with police funding so much. Many of the police shootings occur in just these circumstances where an individual is having some type of mental breakdown and the police don't know how (and aren't trained) to handle the potential aggressive nature of the situation so they shoot when they feel threatened. Doesn't it make sense to have an emergency response capability with trained personnel to deal with these situations? So his statements really have nothing to do with a criminal breaking down your door. No matter the law enforcement budget there will always be a certain response time. Shoot the m___ fer, they deserve it. For the record, I have a number of law enforcement friends and family and am certainly not anti police and am a strong union supporter.

Thank God for you as a truth teller against those dummass Brits, They're slaughtering one another with knives at the rate of 270 a year and must really envy the US where only 1500 knife homicides occur in a year.
