Why are people raising chickens

 To me this has to be the dumbest trend to hit the midwest since growing the " 5 dollar" tomato.

Alot of it has to do with government loosening some of it's regs concerning farm animals in city limits

And why would anyone want to raise chickens?

Eggs are cheap AF...you dont have to wake up earily every morning to get your eggs/ or out in the cold winter to get the eggs.. you dont have to deal with the coop or the poop.
You dont have to deal with a rooster

Plus you get tired of eggs real quick when you have chickens

Yet fuck within a block i have 2 neighbors raising chickens...

For the luv of God..

Why?

 Rats tend to show up and attack chickens in city limits.
Easy prey.

 Just like everything else the media publishes, people were shown (told) to. Some say they taste better, but I am not sure. Some have seen factory farms and are appalled.
