Why " defund the police" is stupid?

 Now this is the part where people will either just agree with me because they are pro police

Or disagree with a reference from a socialist country where it actually works..( yes that countries pop is like 12)

I will not be referrencing any study or stat today. My
Point is simple.
Reduce the police budget means not hiring/ training any new police.

Now look at any other job..hell your job..lets say someone quits and the boss refuses to replace them.

What happens then????
Yep everyone picks up the slack...or shit doesnt get done..
Or most likely everyone is mad and half asses it.

Now apply this to the police force..

Here is a perfect example..

An old factory converted in shops had a fire and has been condemned. The tennants now must leave.
Of late people have been breaking in a stealing stuff.

And im not talking about methheads breaking in for some left over copper to sell to get a fix.

Im talking about cutting holes in a fence,backing pick up trucks in and taking everthing not nailed down.

So they did this thursday..and then came back friday..literally koolaid man style busting holes in the drywall to get from one shop and into the other.

My point is what did the cops do?

Nothing...they will show up hours after the theft took place...wont do any csi crap or any real detective work, will just wanna watch the surveillance video..
And then

Leave.

The crooks wont be persued..the case will go cold.

Meanwhile..the crooks returned at 4 am and ran into my armed client at his shop.

Did the cops stake out this old factory? Nope..did they atleast provide more area patrols...nope.

My client is now left with 2 options...let them steal his livelyhood or protect the shop himself.

And this is what we get from a fully funded police force. Now imagine what happens if we cut their budget.

And im not blaming/ bashing the police..

But this is a no brainer..defund,reduce,shift portions of the police budget means certain crimes will not be policed, response times will be delayed and your left with an over worked/ pissed off bunch of cops.

Meanwhile thugs grow ballsy...these guys not only hit these shops once ..they left their bolt cutters by mistake..and came back and grabbed them.

Now this blog post isnt meant to provoke a gun debate or citizens policing themselves.

Im talking about the role of people whoses job it is to police and protect.

Im not sure how cutting their budget and stuffing it into mental health councillors is gonna stop these thefts or get my client's truck,tools,light fixtures back

 And not taking political sides on this...but these politicans that support " defund the police"...
AKA...my own means of protection...need to be voted out next election.

Imagine if someone broke into your house..walked around for hours...took alot of your shit and left..

Only to return again and again..

Whose gonna stop them? If you defend your property you might be the one going to jail

 I agree with your last statement: "If you defend your property you might be the one going to jail". And why could you be the one going to jail? Because it was easier to find you, instead of the criminals.
