I not only wonder about the legality of congresses actions in reguards to a possible rail strike.

But should Congress be writing laws to force unions back to work/ accept contracts?

Then biden/ the media sugar coat all of by insisting the GOP didnt want to give the railworks paid sick leave..

Er..hello...some secs of this labor union are out right rejecting Biden's previous proposal..

Why should I rejoice that Nancy p and crew want to give them paid sick days while ramming a contract down their throat that they rejected..?

Even worse is biden speech on how it was his idea to insert the paid sick days and how everyone should have that..

Er hello...you have the magic dictator pen...why not just do that.

I mean if you literally can write a federal law forcing a union back to work...

Then why can't he just erase all student debt or give americans free health care..or paid sick days.

I'm not in favor of the government being involved in much, period.
There isn't anything that they have been involved in, that worked out well or helped the common folk.

Biden has dramatically helped Warren Buffett's BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY when he shut down the XL pipeline. Of course, Buffett is a huge donor to the Democratic party too. Berkshire Hathaway owns BNSF railroad. Do you see a correlation here.

No one notices when a union or company goes on strike, it might be an inconvenience for some outside of those on strike. And often times, when union strike, companies bring in scabs or replacement workers, so the company doesn't take a big hit, just the workers.

Do we know what the union personal have currently in their contract, not really. Do we know all that they are asking, or what the companies are offering, no. We just see the highlites.

The negotiators try to make the best deal for each side, and I have always seen CEO's of companies getting huge bonuses when a contract is signed, because the company didn't pay as much in wages or benefits as they could have.

Can a strike cause irreversible damage, possibly. But is that any different than all the rules and regulations that are put on the truckers?

    Quoting  :

Being ex military I always look at it from the standpoint of a possible war footing. Would anyone want a union, maybe bought and paid for by china or others, to have the ability to shut down essential services???? I just do not like unions....never have and never will and have had to be in several of them. jmho

Student Debt is tied up in court now because of the Republicans. Imagine the court cases for free health care, paid sick days... or EEK, banning certain guns.
Conservative republicans won't GIVE the American people any freebies. They already want to take back things we've had for decades, ya know, rights, abortion, medicare, religious freedom.

And yes I get the rail system still is somehow..

important in 2023...like isnt that 1840s tech???

But is it government's right to draft a law to force unions to just accept contracts..

If so..then why don't we do the same for teachers unions or nurses...

You will work for x amount or else
