Now I am hardly an expert when it comes to music throughout the generations..

But i hate rolling stones mag just dropping a best of ..x,y,z bomb into the room..and walking away

And then feeling like omg..we better include Billie elish..or else..

For Christ's sake they listed curt contain in the top 40..

Now I get they meant unique, game changing vocals..

But no Beatles deserves to be in the 100 hundreds in my opinion..

So honestly...who is the most talented female and male vocalist you ever heard..

And to me this means not only range...but ability to sing it with little effort

My best guess...

For women...I'd like to say the obvious Whitney or marriah...

But I'm gonna say karen carpenter...a pure voice that got it done in one take..she was known in the industry as " one take karen". Her timing was amazing due to her time spent as a jazz drummer.

For men..I'm biased and want to say Robert goulet..can't beat a man that can sing on Broadway and do a mean Christmas tune..

But I'm going with the blonde Bobby hetfield of the righteous brothers...man had an ungodly upper range that transcended racial barriers.
Can't go wrong with blue eyes soul that had best selling movie tracks for ghost and dirty dancing..
Plus a place in the rock and roll hof.

Of course..my modern heart is near and dear

To Sia..

For modern men... I like ari kaplan formally of pentatonics..

That change is on the rise song...is deep...makes you want to join a Vikings clan

I am absolutely smitten with the musical group "Dead can dance" chanteuse ..Lisa Girrard.

Really Like Brendan Perry (of the same group as well. I think their music is phenomenal. Always brings me to a place away from societies crap.

For me the problem is alot of males vocalist lack range and instead rely on tone like Garth Brookes..

Sure they sold millions and made billions more..

But to me that isnt a singer..

Much like i don't consider Taylor swift a singer.

Much like i don't consider elvis, johney cash or the beatles...singers...

To me a singer is about breathless control. I'm more penatonics than say Garth Brooks.

Maybe I'm weird..but the beatles...does lil for me.

I'd rather Listen To Freddie mercury and queen

Nickie Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly, and a chick i heard at a pub jam once. And Roy Orbison. Lots of others but these are my faves. Yeah, i know, but one of my clients has a heckuva collection.
