Art break- my offering

I was browsing museums on youtube and came across the works of Edward Hopper. He completed most of his paintings from 1925 thru 1955.

I stopped there for awhile. It was eery, as if he envisioned the isolation that is our present predicament.

Edward Hopper's paintings bleed loneliness. They are so thought provoking and touch a part of us that somehow forgotten. It's like he touches our subconscious loneliness. This is a great post. I really like it.

A little sad but these are great. And yes, perfect during this crazy time.

Thank you for sharing these

Yes, foolish of me to feed sadness but couldn't take my eyes off them. Thanks

Interesting. What was he trying to express?

Good eye, Miss Woody!

The one that captured me was the bartender, sitting depressed in front of his boarded-up bar. Not a soul nor prospect in sight...

Edward Hopper never fails to be thought provoking. I love the shoes on the nude woman. I see no sadness. These paintings are a homage to life and living.

The peek thru the window is very apropos for this day and age......it seems we are always peeking thru the window hoping to find something good

grywolf2, I think it is a perfect time to share these, it makes us feel so not alone, knowing others are also in isolation or feeling alone.
My favorite is the lady sitting naked in the chair looking out the window. She has her shoes on showing us she is ready to travel, her nakedness to me, shows she is ready to give her 'all' , she searches out the window for her path.

Hopper can be very depressing.
