The Plumber............ and the surgeon..... |

A surgeon was having a plumbing problem and had to call a plumber to fix his leak. The problem was an easy fix and the entire job took less than 5 minutes. Before leaving the plumber handed the surgeon his bill and said, "That will be $500." The surgeon is taken back and replies, "I am a brain surgeon and even I do not charge $100 a minute." The plumber says, "Yeah, neither did I when I was a brain surgeon. Why do you think I switched?"

supply and demand sets the value and the worth. Otherwise who is to judge and place a value on people and the service they provide. We would all do that according to our own value judgments and that would be chaotic. Fair...... maybe. Society values things unfairly in general........ but supply and demand at least is a process that is mostly based on how society as a collective determines value.
