Just one of those shows you remember as a kid.....you didn't understand a lot of what was being talked about but you knew a funny part when you saw or heard it. I think the funniest one I remember was there lodge, International Order of Friendly Sons of the Raccoons, asking which member could make sandwiches for the next meeting. No one would volunteer.....finally Norton says he will.....then under his breath he mutters that he won't have time to go home and take a bath after working all day in the sewers before making the sandwiches.....and all of a sudden everyone is offering to make the sandwiches....

When you wrote that the show lasted just one season, I didn't remember that and had to look it up. I found an old clip on YouTube with Gleason as a guest on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He claimed that when the studio asked him to do a second season he said no because he was running out of fresh ideas and didn't want to diminish what they had created. Now that was a real artist. "Does God have a sense of humor? He must have if He created us." Jackie Gleason

melt That was such a wonderful show! It set a high bar for others! A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny
