Two Navy Seals Lost At Sea

Two Navy Seals Lost At Sea
ryder had asked if I would post for the two navy seals that were lost at sea during a night time boarding mission.
Special Operator First Class Christopher J. Chambers, 37, and Special Operator Second Class Nathan Gage Ingram, 27, were lost on Jan. 11 when SEALs in two stealthy combat speedboats, shadowed by helicopters and drones, boarded a dhow, a type of small wooden cargo ship, in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Somalia. As the two men tried to climb a rope boarding ladder in rough seas, one fell into the ocean and the other jumped into the water to attempt a rescue. Both SEALs were quickly lost in the waves.

SOSC Nathan Gage Ingram, left and SOFC Christopher J. Chambers

It is hard for me to imagine this happening to two of our best. The training they go through prepares them for just such circumstances. I just wonder IF we are getting the full story on all of this. I have a lot of questions I would like to know the answers to about this incident........

So they are still missing. January 11 is quite a while. But that is all the information that has been released. I could not find any more on their official listing. They could be on assignment. I am sure it would be classified.

We thank them for their service. As you say, "are we getting the full story" and I have a feeling they are on assignment. Two Navy Seals lost and adrift at sea just does not sound right. They are just gone?

reminds how quickly one can go from operations as usual to an incident. and, assuming the story is true and not a cover for what actually happened, how ferocious Nature can be. these guys were accomplished swimmers and survivors and yet ...

RIP

I am saddened by the loss of these two fine men and their families & friends. They were two of America's finest.

I have wondered why Seals on these sorts of operations don't wear some sort of transmitters they can activate so they can be located in the water. It would seem to me they could have been located within minutes if they had such devices.

It is standard for SEALs on boarding
missions to wear flotation devices and
locator beacons.
There is way more to this story than
the public is being told.

Being a Navy SEAL is a dangerous job. These guys are taking their lives in their hands on practically every mission. They are bad to the bone!

Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.

No doubt about that. They love their country.
