Taking The Best and Leaving The Rest

We are the brink of twen,ty twe.nty-one...
Boy, does this year have a lot live u.p t.o!
Everyone is pinning their hopes on a better year..
Wh.o knows if that will be true?

I suppose we are basing i.t on the theory that i.t can't get any worse? IMO i.t can always get worse. New beginnings don't always have the greatest reward, when going through a journey is the harder but has more valuable results. I think of this year as a learning curve, and I have learned a whole lot in this space and time. Rather than list my resolutions, below are some of my lessons:

1. Life's not easy. Do not fall into the trap of being a victim. Get over and get on with it.
2. Unbelievable is the stupidest word in the dictionary. You witnessed it. It just happened. Believe it.
3. Joy vs. Happiness If happiness is what you're after, you're going be let down a lot and be unhappy. Joy is another story. Joy comes from doing what we are fashioned to do
4. Define what success is t.o you - Whatever you do, don't let compromise your soul. We've all got wolves in our soul, good and bad, which one are you going t.o feed?
5. Process of elimination is the first step t.o our identity - The first step is not I know i am, the first step is I know I am not. Process of elimination...
6. Don't leave crumbs. They are what's left after you make your choices and come in the form of regret, guilt, and remorse. You leave crumbs today, they will cause you more stress tomorrow.
7. The easiest way t.o dissect success is through gratitude. Appreciating the things we sometimes take for granted. That doesnt mean being in denial of your failures, it means using them as a way to reveal what we are good at.
8. Choose it because you want it. Do it because you want t.o.
9. Guilt and regret kills many a man. Turn the page and get off the ride.
1.0. Fear is a good thing because increases our need t.o overcome that fear. Don't get paralyzed they exist and abandon your need t.o overcome them. Through courage you will find respect for yourself.

That's Life

That's life, that's life
That's what all the people say.
You're riding high on Monday,
Shot down in May.
But I, I ain't never gonna change my tune
When I'm back on top in the month of June.
I said, that's life. That's life
Ain't as funny as it may seem,
Some people get their kicks
Stompin' on a dream.
But I, I don't never let it get me down
'Cause that big ol' world keeps spinnin' 'round.
Been a puppet, pirate, a poet, a pauper, a pawn and a king.
Been up and down and over and out and I know one thing:
Each time that I find myself flat on my face
I pick myself up and get back in the race.
That's life, that's life
And I can't deny it,
Many times I thought of quitting, babe,
But my heart wouldn't buy it.
If I didn't think it was worth one try
I'd jump right on a big bucket and fly.
Been a puppet, poet, pirate, pauper; now I'm a king.
Been up, down, I know one thing:
Each time that I find myself flat on my face
I pick myself up and get back in the race.
That's life, that's life
And I can't deny it,
Many times I thought of quitting, babe,
But my heart wouldn't buy it.
If I didn't think it was worth one try
I'd just roll myself up in a big ball and fly.

Happy New Year, my dear - and it appears that you have set up better New Year defences than claiming to make a resolution that you know you'll break ......... I don't resolve anything, other than waking up each day and deciding which miracle needs my attention.

Here's to a good one - may your miracles be good ones.
