I'm A Legal Alien The offspring is in Scotland... I haven't seen her in two and a half years. It;s been a long strange trip since Tim died. I keep thinking at some point I will accept having to stay in America, but I haven't yet. Why can't I just be happy where I am? I want to be. And yet, it eludes me. I hate American: Exceptionalism Political division and extremism, Karens and their need to expose anyone for anything, Nationalism dressed as patriotism, Ignorance pretending to be informed, Conspiratorialist hiding paranoid delusion.... The struggle is real. Who am I? What am I doing here? Where am I? It's a conundrum I find myself in a lot of the time. When will I regain myself, I wonder. How did this get so fucked up? I am an alien and always was, only my partner in crime is gone and I am all alone. Just treading water.... Song for this post Englishman In New York - Sting |

I don't drink coffee, I take tea, my dear I like my toast done on one side And you can hear it in my accent when I talk I'm an Englishman in New York See me walking down Fifth Avenue A walking cane here at my side I take it everywhere I walk I'm an Englishman in New York Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien I'm an Englishman in New York Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien I'm an Englishman in New York If "manners maketh man" as someone said He's the hero of the day It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile Be yourself no matter what they say Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien I'm an Englishman in New York Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien I'm an Englishman in New York Modesty, propriety can lead to notoriety You could end up as the only one Gentleness, sobriety are rare in this society At night a candle's brighter than the sun Takes more than combat gear to make a man Takes more than a license for a gun Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can A gentleman will walk but never run If "manners maketh man" as someone said He's the hero of the day It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile Be yourself no matter what they say Be yourself no matter what they say Be yourself no matter what they say Be yourself no matter what they say (oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien) Be yourself no matter what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York) Be yourself no matter what they say (oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien) Be yourself no matter what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York) Be yourself no matter what they say (oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien) Be yourself no matter what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York) Be yourself no matter what they say (oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien) Be yourself no matter what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York) Be yourself no matter what they say

If you have feelings and your feelings are true, please sweet lady, wipe your feet and join me on my flying carpet. We will sore high into the sky, make funny faces at the world below. It will be just you and I up in that beautiful blue sky, holding hands and gaze into each others eyes. My carpet will weave through clouds so white, much more I could write but not tonight. A kiss I blow to this Alien miss.

Let's be clear . . those aren't Americans you describe, those are Europeans that were aliens a few generations. If you're basing your judgment of America on New York City, you're very short sighted.

oh a pretty alien!!! with big eyes!! I admit it's just that you sketch a smile after reading your post, did I succeed my friend ?? so I thought of a trip and I'm coming with you, do you agree?? Imagine a summer evening, posed like a chorus A ship space enough to take us very far Imagine on a summer evening, we would pack our bags You'd put yourself in charge, we could take a long trip Imagine a summer night full of galaxies A spaceship to search for melodies Imagine on a summer night, we'd fold our faces into an adventure book, we'd go on a long journey She passed by here She will pass by there, the note here you are back on earth now you have made this trip, the alien at large has returned to earth reading your message I know a song I wanted to put the lyrics to I just didn't dare it's powerful in words my friend take care of you

You have seen and experienced so much in your lifetime and I can only imagine how the loss of your partner in crime has affected you. I will send warm hugs and positive thoughts......I like the you that you are.

Amazing the guys hitting on you when the post has nothing to do with seeking. It's hard to be alone without the one that made you a whole. Then having all the crap this country is going through dumped on top has to make you wonder. Home is where the heart is, but when your heart feels lost, it's hard to know where to turn to find home.

Your Marquis' quote provides a powerful rationale for some of the global dysfunction. And trust that as with all else, this too shall pass. I'm pinning my hopes on 'reversion to the mean' theory. Hopefully in my lifetime

Sometimes, it's easy to wish you lived in a different time or place. I often find myself wishing I'd lived in NYC from about 1950 - 1970, when it was like one continuous Opening Night. The joy of discovery of the new works by the century's most talented people, featuring live performers at the top of their game...and downtown, the world of bebop jazz was just waiting to be discovered over drinks and cigarettes... Anyway, I see a beautiful woman in that photo, ready to begin another life of adventure, and wish you all the best. PS: I expect you know this, but for those out there who do not, that Sting song cited above was written about flamboyant British raconteur, Quentin Crisp, whose autobiography "The Naked Civil Servant" was the subject of a delightful film released in 1975 and which introduced American audiences to a wonderful British actor named John Hurt.

Poetess, I get that…I so get that! The entire system is suffering from catastrophic structural failure and no one seems even remotely interested in actually changing course, or even opening a dialogue to admit we are getting closer to rock bottom. I guess we have to hit it first? It’s now mostly all corruption and swindle. Here’s to hoping your offspring can perhaps help facilitate your escape from this prison. In solidarity, A Cellmate

We are all Earthlings, as far as we know. Chances are we might be from another galaxy, far far away...I was born in the US, but lived overseas in my formative years. I believe harmony, or discord is controlled by the government and the messages they send out through the airways... The US used to teach , we the people. Then they changed the message to YOLO... "I". Rather than news, they spread scandals...California High School football teacher shot... Russian soldier told his Father... Britney goes nude... All real headlines now on one news server. To best enjoy this world, live out in the country, no matter which country

Sometimes treading water is all that's required for the current to take you where you're supposed to go. Just sayin'
