I'll take the blizzards in the North over hurricanes in the South.

I agree with Ron and so does my mother. She always said she'd take an earthquake now and then over a hurricane or tornado. We and her father were all born in California, all fairly close to the San Andreas fault and been in several earthquakes that made the national (likely international) news but never close enough to be injured or more than minor property damage.

That sounds like such and intense ordeal. It doesn’t matter where you go, indeed Mother Nature is everywhere and constantly reminding you of her capabilities. She is the Ultimate bitch in charge, and her major Earthquakes are so damn scary. Glad your okay.

Mother nature is the truest of Dominants. She forces you out of your comfort zone, then holds you down by your neck an when she lets you go you hear her say she will be back. There is no place in this world she won't find you. She has taught me I don't belong in the Outer Banks.

Hurricanes are so powerful, they should still be named only after women’s names…but I guess that’s just a little too old school. Song. Rock you like a hurricane by the Scorps.

It is all a reminder of how little control we actually have

I'm glad you're ok. Mother nature is very powerful especially when she's pissed off. I've lived all over the US and there is no where in teh US that mother nature isn't cruel. The west coast has earthquakes and the climate for devastating fires, the midwest is tornado alley not to mention the frozen tundra. The south east and mid Atlantic has hurricanes and the north east is teh other frozen tundra with long winters. That being said as bad as tornados, hurricanes, and blizzards are, they are at least predictable so one can prepare, if not evacuate. An earthquake isn't, it comes without warning and can be equally devastating.

the fury of Mother Nature truly leaves you in awe of her power & what she can do...hurricanes typhoon tsunami earthquake tornado blizzards etc. we must respect her & stay clear of where she visits frequently!

Aye! Mother nature is a force to reckon with.

I was lucky to be away as the eye passed over my house on the east coast. There is nothing like Mother Nature when she's raging!

Glad to hear you are ok. Here in the Orlando area, we had flooding; I was able to move my car out of the water before it got too deep. Some of my neighbors were not so luck. I lost power Thursday morning and it's still down. Luckily, my office system is still up and running so I can remain in touch with the outside world.

Mother nature certainly is impressive. All these storms & earthquakes make me glad I live in the UK, where the weather is a lot less dramatic. Still pisses me off when we get a storm that takes out my fence in the back garden though. Goodness knows how you feel if it takes out your house.
