When I was a gold member, it never worked for me. So at this point I am missing nothing. Welcome to the blogs. Best to you. If you look around the blogs, many of us have a private blog space and we set that chat for private via the approve comments. We use the respond feature s only the commenters can see the responses. Not all bloggers have this set up. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

If ALT's IM isn't the worst in the world, it runs a very close second. Yeah, and paying money to use it doesn't help. Complete piece of shit 99.98352% of the time. Make Women Female Again

For at least a month now, everyone that I have talked with or read their comments have said that the IM here simply does not work.

Welcome! Your main way to communicate as a Standard Member is through the Blogs. The IMs no longer work. I am not sure they ever did. Go luck and stay well.

I do not, nor would not, pay anything to be on this site. The last time I had a successful chat on IM was a few weeks ago. It would appear to be that BOTH the sender AND the recipient need to have at least 10 points for a conversation to get going. But they don't tell you that, of course! I think (more experienced people correct me if I am wrong?) that about the most 'private' you can make a blog is to use the following settings: "Who can view this post" only friends "Who can comment on this post" no-one. It depends what the blog is for. If you want to say something and not receive comments, set it to "no comments allowed". If you do want comments, decide how open you want it to be. "I want to pre-review..."all responses". Assuming you allow responses at all, this means that only you see them, unless you decide to approve them in which case they are as visible as the original post. This setting is useful if you want other to send you information in private, like contact details (sort of, unless you approve the post). I hope that's useful  Now, ms subslut... how are you? x
