We have the same sort of thing being attempted here. But it is developers hell bent on having rental properties. Most of which are section 8 financed. It does not serve the locals. It will draw people from larger cities looking for cheap rent and handouts. Been that way for every project completed locally. They are assuming these folks will use public transport. Wrong, t they have cars and not enough parking in the town center to begin with. Detracts retail possibilities if they do not have a place for workers and customers.

I love to see the re-vitalization of long ago forgotten areas. I applaud Pittsburgh for what they're doing in the old steel worker neighborhoods although Braddock just seems so lost.
