Oh, my, that was not a happy encounter, if only online....

I had a great afternoon, i was with, what i call "my children" again.
I help this Chinese family, who are living for a long time in Holland, now
but still have difficulties with the Dutch rules, and tax and all that.

I also help their children with speaking and writing Dutch and all kind of social accepted behaviour. they can be a bit wild....

it was very nice to meet them again!
The boy is soo funny!
the other day, he told me, your hair looks like shit, it is ugly...
Right!
So i went to the hairdresser, ( had that allready planned) and visiting them, again, i asked him, what do you think of my hair, now?
He was not impressed!
LOL
He is 7 years, his sister is 9 year.
So funny!

I applaud you for even engaging with the yahoo. Too many people are stuck, remember the LP days when a record would have a scratch and repeat and repeat. There aren't a lot of original thoughts lately that have caught my ear or attention, why, they aren't original !

I used to be disappointed in finding out supposedly inteligent people were religious bigots.

Nowadays, everything leads to dissention, to extreme positions. No in-between, no gray zone, be it politics, pandemics etc.

Scary, tiring, depressing.

Given that I'm living the last quarter of my life, I try to find and do things that I want to do... Read, learn and avoid all the D.A.s around me.

I'm in the UK, rather than the US, but it seems like you can no longer
discuss things rationally anymore, or just agree to disagree.

Lol, yeah that sounds about par for the course.
Apparently when Covid hit the asshole fairies flew around sprinkling dickhead-dust every where!!
Love the rant! Both here and on your profile. I find the older I get, the less patience and tolerance I have for stupid people ... but they outnumber me something like 7 Billion to one!

Give somebody an undergrad degree at age 21-22 and they stop learning and growing. Humor goes flying right over their woolly heads.

My college required the director of the computer center have a Ph.D. I was once complaining of something stupid he did and someone said "Well he does have a Ph.D." I replied "Yes a Picture of Howdy Doody"

P.S. His predecessor was a character. Someone once sent him a picture of a penis with a note "From the second biggest to the biggest" Somehow it got past his secretary and he was showing it around asking "How does he know I have the biggest?" He wasn't fired for committing thousands for an online registration system, when everybody was using punch cards, and then buying the terminals from a company he was president of. He was fired for firing a student aide who refused to go to bed with him. He was intelligent but with character flaws.

There were a few of those floating around PSU back in the day. I had a Spanish prof who was a bit too friendly. *nods* Told me he had an open marriage. *nods* As if.

This was not just a professor but the director of the Computer Center. He was Italian and had a heavy Italian accent. His favorite saying was "I maka the rules I breaka the rules. " After college, I had a boss who was the computer director at another college in the same university system. When I asked if he knew him he told me he went to a conference that all university directors were attending. He only saw him the first day when he walked in with a blond under his arm. He used to be a test driver for Ferrari. Every year he would go to a race in the area and would take two employees who were into rally racing. One year he took his mistress. The next year he took his wife. Unfortunately, the program had pictures of last year's race, including one with him and the mistress. The two employees were given the job to make sure that his wife did not see the program.

Remember this was the 70s
