... looking at my empty passport again now, I believe this day was simply supposed to be filled with all these lovely small things (are they really small?), to remind me of the beauty of life and that happiness is in little, tiny pleasures around us we often don't see or recognize, things we do for those we love, and we receive from those who care about us...

Great way to think. Life is full of disappointments, we all have to try and move them to the back of our conscious and make the best of what we have.
