“One day you'll eat your last meal, smell your last flower, hug your friend for the very last time." If that thought doesn't hit you squarely between the eyes, I don't know what will. When we're young, and think we're immortal, such thoughts don't really register with us. Then reality sets in as we age, and we really appreciate such sentiments and can relate with them. Especially as people we grew up with, whether persons we actually knew or public figures, pass on. Thanks for the reminder Ex. This blog is soooooo 'you'. Make Women Female Again

What we do with our time is important, but what's more important is what we leave behind. Do I have a show tune that says it better than I? Of course: (from the musical version of "Goodbye Mr. Chips"): n the morning of my life I shall look to the sunrise. At a moment in my life when the world is new. And the blessing I shall ask is that God will grant me, To be brave and strong and true, And to fill the world with love my whole life through. In the noontime of my life I shall look to the sunshine, At a moment in my life when the sky is blue. And the blessing I shall ask shall remain unchanging. Live life as if it is your last day? That must be soo terrible stressful, i cant even think about it.  Sometimes, when dealing with nasty folks, 'your' kinkness is wasted on those... My neigbours are a living proof of that...

You are welcome. I am glad you found it meaningful. I, too, try to ask myself those questions every night. Most of us men and women "of a certain age" don't make it to "that certain age" without the courage and strength to have overcome the adversities of life - love, death, loss, pain, illness - so, there's that. Some more than others, of course. As for the third question, well, if the jokes I make here, or on other blogs, or to others in person, make someone laugh, or if the song lyrics I post generate a provocative emotional response (or maybe even a tingle between the legs, now and then), then I can say "yes," at least for that day.
