The opposite of good is not bad . . It is indifference. When they ask why you are the way you are, they're deciding how indifferent to be toward you.

Ooooooooo My Dear Ex💋.....Love your sentiment❤️.... But I'm just so good at being BAD😏

love the concept of "pointless good"

The universe does challenge that notion of doing good. I believe that at least trying is an effort in a positive direction.

Perhaps, in many cases, we should only do good , anonymously, for no other reason than to avoid the indictment --whether self-directed or directed toward us by others--that, ever stubbornly, serves to accuse us of only doing good because it redounds to our own credit or benefit (ie., that we are only doing good because it makes us, the doer, feel good (or helps erase or offset/redeem some less-than-good quality in ourselves), irrespective, to a large extent, of the objective good we apparently--even conspicuously, sometimes--intend for (direct towards) others.. Too many do-gooders are little else than glory hounds or praise hunters, which is never a selfless or empathetic good. I'm not suggesting that we stop being kind and civil to others in a social context, or loving and caring in a romantic context. There is no way, obviously , to maintain (or even want to maintain) anonymity in those situations or under those circumstances. . The above suggestion is only a general or notional one, at best; moreover, it will, I'm afraid, always, (due to its speculative or theoretical quality) be easier said than done....human nature being what it is. I mention it only as food for thought.

All I can say is, I agree. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

Remember that it is true that no good deed goes unpunished... i think it is to see if one is willing to keep it up Also, humans are the only species that pay to be here In the game

I have opened myself up to, at least, tentatively, accept the premise of your rejoinder, Ex.. Perhaps there is truth in it, though I still can't help but hold a modicum of doubt that anything is ever really pointless, including the good we do, even anonymously. Though your reference be specifically to the good we do-- and excuse me for diverging a bit from your topic--I can't help but liken your heartfelt sentiments to something akin to agapic love, which I suppose I could be made to accept as a truthful reality. To get at what I am trying to say by way of this comparison, please feel free to click on (or copy and paste) the following short, but succinct, site to refresh your memory. In any event , I thank you for the wonderful parry to my errant thrust. It was, no doubt, "a hit, .a very palpable hit." https://www.rituals.com/en-us/mag-spirituality-different-types-of-love.html

ExNameForUse replies on 6/10/2023 1:02 pm: There will always be some undeserved punishments in life, there will always be haters. But I refuse, if that is the right way to say, to become cynical or suspend my nature to at least do no harm if I can't do any good. I believe that those who deliver "punishment" for your good are actually deeply sad and unhappy, hungry for love and they need it most. I am no way a hater. I believe life is to be lived to be enjoyed I try my best to live that way and help others do the same

Ex This is a wonderful philosophy and goal but, in reality, very difficult to achieve! A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny
