"I think of faith as a kind of whistling in the dark, because in much the same way, it helps to give us courage and to hold the shadows at bay."

Ex

Thisn is a beautiful piece accompanied by a very powerful picture

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw

I like tiptoeing in the darkness, I want to hear noises not make them.

However, I do like it when an emoji gets it right.

"I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

Remember the good times that we had?
We let them slip away from us when things got bad
Clearly I first saw you, smiling in the sun
Wanna feel your warmth upon me, I wanna be the one

I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I'm so tired, but I can't sleep
Standing on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much, but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can't be heard

And I will remember you (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Will you remember me? (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Don't let your life pass you by (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Weep not for the memories

(Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
(Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)

So afraid to love you, more afraid to lose
Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose
Once there was a darkness, deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, Oh you gave me light

And I will remember you (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Will you remember me? (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Don't let your life pass you by (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Weep not for the memories

I will remember you (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Will you remember me? (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Don't let your life pass you by (Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da)
Weep not for the memories, weep not for the memories..." 1999 Sarah McLachlan from the "Mirrorball" album

many years ago, the first time my girlfriend at the time swallowed my cum,
it struck me that some part of me might be used to make her body, bone, blood.
It was a romantic thought for we were young and very much in love. This reminded me of that moment some 50 years ago, makes me stop for a second,
smile and wonder if we're bound by that bit of protein on that long ago night though long ago we parted ways.

ExNameForUse replies on 9/12/2023 8:32 am:
Whether through your proteins or anyhow else, I hope there are some fond memories of you left and running through her veins just as there are in your mind about her, dear Boh

You have once again reminded me of something through your words. This excerpt is from a letter written by Major Sullivan Ballou to his wife on July 14, 1861. It was before the first 'Battle of Bull Run' of our Civil War and he somehow knew that his death was imminent.

But, O Sarah, if the dead can come back to this earth, and flit unseen around those they loved, I shall always be near you in the garish day, and the darkest night amidst your happiest scenes and gloomiest hours always, always, and, if the soft breeze fans your cheek, it shall be my breath; or the cool air cools your throbbing temples, it shall be my spirit passing by. Sarah, do not mourn me dear; think I am gone, and wait for me, for we shall meet again.

His entire letter is written as eloquently as this passage from it. I recommend you Google it and read it. Knowing you, and the size of your heart, I have little doubt that tears will be rolling down your cheeks by the time you're done reading it.

If others here read my our comment, I recommend they read this letter too.

It's a part of our American heritage that too few know about.

Dear Plz, of course, I did what you suggested, as you have already seen... and I just thought it would be a shame not to share it with others... thank you again

I had some situations lately that made me think of remembrance as such... what I am going to be remembered for, if at all... will those who I loved immensely keep me in their hearts once I am gone... or will I be buried alive while I am still here, yet forgotten, or dismissed as not fitting their agenda... so many thoughts and this piece of prose summed it up nicely... thanks for stopping by, dear Likeithot

A doubters dictionary .. Buechner, I love his writings.
“The original, shimmering self gets buried so deep that most of us end up hardly living out of it at all. Instead we live out all the other selves, which we are constantly putting on and taking off like coats and hats against the world’s weather.”
Guess who said that .. smiles

ExNameForUse replies on 9/12/2023 9:06 am:
I ran into him just recently and this quote I shared resonated quite accurately with some of my thoughts, emotions, and recent events...
There is another one I could easily identify with, so here it is: Compassion is the sometimes fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It's the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.
This is so me when it comes to those I deeply love and care about...
Thanks for your comment, Lurker
