Sorry, long rant. Alt again. It is such a pain in the ass, such crappy programming, so many functions you can not always keep in mind. I do not enjoy pain in the ass at the best of times, but alt is giving me the worst of times. What do you need to remember to do if you want to do anything? if you want to chat, you first have to click on the speechbubble in the menu bar and confirm that you are not busy. click it again, so it stays on "on IM". Check if it is still green and did not turn back to red while you were not looking. repeat as necessary. Then, start the chat, pay 1ß points to talk to anyone, hope that THEY did switch that light green so they can even read your messages, and then wait if they respond. Never knowing if they did not respond because your pick-up line was not good, because the light was not green or because alt just did not forward the message. Or anything else. in the blogs? you see a blog, you read it, you answer, hoping to get a reaction. But if you forget to click "watch this blog", you will never know if anyone reacted. I mean, that is pretty much 1998. all other social media plattforms are two to seven steps ahead, and way better programmed. It is really ...... Aaaaargh. Also, even after a long search, I did not find a way to block someone in chat..... as a standard member, that should be possible, too. Sorry, I just had to get this out of my system. And maybe the information helps one or the other of you. And if any of you lovely folks know how to block someone, feel free to tell me. Or give other helpful advice concerning the workings of the alt imps and goblins. Thank you all for listening. When you come to a fork in the road, take it. __Yogi Berra

Ah, just found the "ignore" button in chat, that is something. Though I might want to block them too..... well, maybe the answer awaits me in the comments next time I log in. When you come to a fork in the road, take it. __Yogi Berra

If you want to see the bloggers' response, on your blog page, click "Where I am quoted" up top on the right. You will get a list of all responses to your posts on other blogs. Blocking people is found on the "My account" page First click block on their profile page, the go to My Account In edit preferences is your blocked list. Find the name you blocked and check off everything you want to block them from or the far right "View My Profile" box, that will click everything. Then save changes. Can't helpp you with IM, everyone knows it sucks.

. If you go to My Stuff / My Account / Edit Preferences and click on Blocked Member List, you can selectively block someone from a load of activities. Just type in their name and tick whichever boxes you feel appropriate xx

Hi Incognitomaster, Yes IM has been useless for a long time in my opinion. With regard to bloggs. I used to return to the bloggs the following day to check for comments. I'm not a standard member, so I don't know if this works for everyone, but if you click, my stuff - my profile - my blog. At the top right, where it says, post: blog; pole etc., next line down says "where I'm quoted: watchers." If you click, "where I'm quoted," it will show you a page showing your recent comments & replies. Hope this helps.
