It certainly can be, except for the distance. This newbie has read a few of Mistress's BLOGS including this one and if Mistress was closer, this newbie would meet with Mistress, as Mistress sounds like someone this newbie would like to get to know. But the distance is problemamtic ofr this newbie...

I fully believe in find out early on if a person is truly compatible. You meet soon in part to verify who they are. To see how they treat others in both social and family situations. On line role play, to me is silly and a waste of time before meeting. It is simply fantasy at that point on unrealistic. Distance is a bitch. Being close in age help to have cultural and historical reference. Need to be on similar wavelengths with religious and political perspectives. Have similar values. And most importantly able to talk openly and honestly to each other. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

Yes, it is really that simple. Compatibility on all day to day living, moral code, liking each other, as persons, human beings first. Build friendship and all that. Accept the differences and embrace the similarities. Know, what is a want and a need, know what you need, or want and know the differences. Be able to talk life and BDSM in an adult manner, without making all about you and your * youknowwhat * , making it all into some silly sex game. DD, you write it, as i see it, too.
