WORKOUT BECAUSE YOU LOVE YOUR SELF. NOT BECAUSE YOU HATE YOUR BODY!! On the mornings I don't want to go to the gym I need to remind myself of this... A few days ago my trainer, pointed out my calf muscles to me. Telling me how defined the muscle is while I'm exercising it.. And how hard many men have to work to get the same length I appear to have naturally. My trainer included... While it was flattering to hear it's certainly not the reason I workout... I workout to accept myself more with my changing body. To be stronger so my golf ball sails further. To see my muscles start to change and actually show beautiful definition. Not to mention all the health benefits of exercise... The ultimate being I feel really good after my workouts! In 95 degree heat I was pretty fatigued after my golf round... Without exercising though I doubt I would have even finished the round..... The hardest thing about exercising; showing up! Once your there it's easy... Off to the gym I go again.... ~ Physical strength is measured by what we carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear. ~

One must take care of themselves, it gives you a better ticket on this ride called life. For years I trained in a gym for power lifting, think more of being bulk rather than ripped, my oldest grandson a few years ago saw my calves, and said those are sick, lol. They usually aren't give out, they must be earned. It is funny to see many that work out their arms and chest, but have chicken legs, guess they think just part of their body needs to look good.

I'm not really into the gym but I do walk 2-3 miles each day. The walk is invigorating , even if I have to do it early to escape the FL heat, but it is also a great time for me to just think.

Cycling is a good way to develop the calves. Not only is working out /exercise is good for the body, it is also important for the mind. Great for relieving stress.

I'm trying to change my internal mantra from..."I hate going to the gym, and I hate my body, to....I like going to gym because it makes me strong and healthy." Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. *sigh*

pac I totally agree with you - working out makes us look and feel better , and being fit, gives us more energy for other things , including sex A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny

Working out to stay healthy and actually enjoy your workouts, maybe not in the moment but afterwards.

Are you sure your trainer wasnt hitting on you? You cant develope length in a muscle. Not saying that you dont have defined calves😄. But then again alot of dudes skip leg day or arent into higher rep training. And most dont do anything for calves
