Golf is beyond cruel sometimes... You think you had a bad weekend? Image How about playing outstanding golf for days and being told while finishing the 18th hole on Saturday, you tested positive for covid... John Rahm doubled over like he was in pain... Even though Rahm was asymptomatic PGA protocols were followed 2 the letter. He immediately went into isolation for days. Was withdrawn from the Memorial Tournament with a 6 shot lead going into Sunday's final round... Now... Of course there is no guarantee Rahm would have won on Sunday or taken home the 1.7 million dollar first place prize... But if you asked his peers they all thought he would have, based on how he played for 3 days and since he had won there before.. Image Now let's look at Lexi's Thompson collapse at the woman's U.S Open Championship... Where she was cruising Sunday afternoon till she wasn't anymore... Thompson had a 5 shot lead after the 8th hole. Then she played the final seven holes in 5 over par, 2 finish 1 shot out of joining the other 2 players in a playoff... The collapse was painful to see. Whereas Lexi was quoted as saying " I really didn't feel like I hit any bad golf shots, that's what this golf course can do to you"... All pac knows is this... Her Friday golf round was wonderful compared 2 these 2!   ~ Physical strength is measured by what we carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear. ~ |
