The wonderful world of golf... Annika Sorenstam is a LPGA senior US Open Champions winner again... After years away from professional golf she waltzes in and has a wire to wire win by 8 shots! How amazing is that? And look at her form now. She still looks great! Annika retired at age 38 with 72 LPGA titles, and major championships... She shot rounds of 67-69-72-68 to finish at under par... When Annika was actively playing pac was told constantly how we resembled each other.. Maybe you can see what I'm missing?? The next feel good story is of Xander Schauffele winning a gold medal in golf at the Olympics... This medal was not only for himself, but especially for his Dad, Stephen... Stephan's Olympic decathlon dreams were crushed many years ago when he was hit by a drunk driver.... In addition Xander won the gold in Japan where his mother grew up and his grandparents still live... He only won by 1 shot as R. Sabbatini posted a under round to almost catch Xander... But 1 shot was good enough... ~ Physical strength is measured by what we carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear. ~ |

She was and still is an amazing golfer, I didn't watch much of the tournament, it will be interesting to see who wins the gold this week in the women's Olympics. I watched as much of the men's Olympics as I could, Xander had a tough Sunday, but pulled it out. I'm sure with his family's history, it was a very proud day for them Sunday.

Ah, the passage of time! My husband was just commenting the other day how strange it was seeing the names playing Senior Golf and remembering when they were in their "prime" ... his quotation marks as well). I'm not a golf fan but I do appreciate the athletes, both men and women. Her scores are a testament to the strength of us who some consider "past their prime!" Thank you for the post!
