A tribute... On the day we never forget... My thoughts and prayers are with all the first responders, all the families and friends who lost loved ones, and those who endure and overcome that every day, especially on every anniversary of the year! pac woke up on that horrible morning and could not believe what she saw... It is still as fresh today as it was twenty years ago... On the day when our country changed forever!! My pic doesn't show the attacks... Just a reminder for those who lost loved ones, the love never goes away... pac remembers Sept 11th!! ~ Physical strength is measured by what we carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear. ~ |

Yes, a very solemn day. I still remember scratching my head at the first news reports. They said a Cessna private airplane had crashed into a Trade Center tower. How could that occur on such a beautiful summer day I was thinking? I worked in Alexandria, Va. at the time and could see the smoke from the Pentagon. A friend of mine told me that his uncle, who was a Colonel working at the Pentagon, had witnessed the plane come down. He said he could see clearly the frightened faces in the porthole windows, he was that close and it haunts him to this day. Just gives me the chills thinking of that. I hope nobody forgets. thanks for the post.

pac We will never forget that day They had an interview with a fireman who saved a woman - it moved me to tears! He and his crew were prepared to die.... A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny

It was about 2pm UK time when the reports started coming in. A very shocked, sad & sombre mood where I worked when we realised what was happening. Two planes had flown from Boston? Where's my niece? She used to fly in & out of Boston regularly then, as she worked for an US company. Fortunately I found she was in the UK. Although a small part of the total, later we found out 67 of the dead were Brits.
