All you say is true. All you say is essential in the reciprocal nature when entering into the dynamics of D/s relationships. One should ask before taking. One should not give until asked. After asking and one gives permission. But as you say and point out, that permission has to be earned. Given her permission he should read her body as he proceeds. So he must be knowledgeable and caring and that is something she should consider before giving permission. Even though the woman in the photo looks like a seasoned player, I would hope the the one holding the whip paid close attention and probed her well being as he or she proceeded with the next lash.
