You can now also call pac...

A turtle killer!

Certainly not intentionally. But in her excitement to get some pictures of this
turtle on the 17th putting green. Have no idea why it was there in the first place?
pac thinks she stressed this poor critter out...

From the pics you can see the water is about a twenty-foot drop from the cliff. This poor turtle walked right to the edge, looked around a couple of times, then tried to walk down the rock ledge to the water. pac heard a sickening thud. When she looked over the ledge the turtle was upside down, and there was some blood near it.

No need to show that pic! She feels bad enough and responsible for this animals actions. So... please remember not t o stress a animal out like pac did, where it totally disregarded it's own safety!

Some would say it was the turtle's time to die, pac
For whatever reason, it decided to crawl up from the pond.
Don't beat yourself up.

Years ago during a golf tournament one of the players beat a large turtle to death with a 5 iron. He them took it to his car to take home saying "My people like to eat turtle". Outrage ensued from everyone. He was suspended from the country club for a year, arrested, and eventually convicted of hunting turtles with an unauthorized weapon. Apparently, it's ok to kill turtles just not with a golf club.

Yikes roper!
Not sure that makes me feel any better?

He was just a asshole!

I almost hurt myself too every time a pretty woman chases me (happens about once in a lifetime). But reminds me of that guy who is carrying his girlfriend on his back repeatedly saying, "I am a turtle, I am a turtle". When someone asks who is the girl on his back, of course he says "Oh that's Michele". *grown now*

Ok Iso!
That's for making me chuckle as usual!

pac, That really saddens me. As a human being I feel responsible in some strange way. Poor little guy. That is really sad. Sometimes we push creatures into harm's way just to pet them.

Totally agree rider!
And it made me very sad to...

To be a killer, you must have the intent to do harm.

Without that, it is an unfortunate accident.

Soon turtles come out of hibernation and travel. Assist them across roads in the direction they are heading and then release them. Box turtles do a few mile loop for mating and will return to their hibernation site in the fall. How's that for convincing someone to have wild .... with you.

I wanted to pick that turtle up...
But I never thought it would attempt what it
did... Next time I will keep it out of harms way!

I understand your feelings, i have that too, when i accidently kill a animal, no matter how small or big...

it just shows you are human and have empathy, it is a good sign.

I had a turtle in my cul-de-sac. When I stood in front of him he stopped. I went into the house to get my phone to take a picture, and when I came out he was out of the cul-de-sac crossing a major 2 lane county road. He made it safely across the road. with cars passing him. It was like the old video game. At that time I had just had knee replacement surgery. If something had happened to him I would have felt guilty not going out to stop traffic.

pac369 replies on 3/3/2022 3:17 pm:
Yes mstraesop...
I can see why you would have felt
guilty if anything happened to him...

Shall we try this again, as ALT found something objectionable?

Awww...
I used to love turtle soup, New Orleans style, until we had some wee turtees as pets. After that, I could no longer consume them.
Every now and then, we encounter them here in Central Florida takin' a stroll. My dog does not know what to make of them, so, after a few barks to see if they're up to the challenge, the dog goes back to ignoring them.

Just wondering if Mrs. O'Leary's cow had intent when the cow started the Great Chicago fire of 1871. It's getting late.
