Don't Let This Happen To You

The Daily Mail reports:
The man heard a , felt his penis become immediately flaccid, and noticed a rush of blood from the tip.
He was rushed the A&E department of a Boston hospital as he was suffering severe pain, according to a case report in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Doctors found he had torn his tunica albuginea, the watertight and fibrous outer sheath of one of the penis’ inner chambers, the corpus cavernosa.

The corpus cavernosa runs along the length of the penis and is filled with spongy tissue, into which blood flows to create an erection.

The tunica albuginea helps to trap the blood in the corpus cavernosa, maintaining an erection.

The had led a tear in the corpus cavernosa’s sheath, which meant blood leaked out, creating swelling.

It was forced out of his body through the urethra, the tube by which a man passes urine, which is why he saw blood coming out of the end of his penis.

When he arrived at hospital, he was taken straight the operating room for emergency repair.

The man has since recovered and has regained his ability have an erection!

Doctors have reported what has been called the first documented case of a vertical penis fracture.

The case report, published in the British Medical Journal on June 10, details how a 40-year-old man injured his penis during sex.

The report's authors say the man sustained the injury when his penis "buckled" against his partner's perineum—the area between the anus and the genitals.

The case study reads: "Not only does this highlight the rarity of this case, but it also raises the question: Does a vertical penile fracture pattern alter either the presentation or long-term outcomes following operative repair?"

Doctors are monitoring the patient's recovery to compare it to other documented cases.

However, they note that six months on from the injury the patient was able to continue having sex again and that he was able to achieve an erection as well as he could before. The case report did not give any details on the medical treatment the patient received.

I am wondering how he did it?

Apparently his aim was off and he tried to pound the perineum (taint) instead of the exit hole.

Does it permanently make bent or curved sideways?

Every case is going to be different; the damage is done, emotionally and psychologically as well as physically. If you broke your arm or leg, you'd be damned cautious afterward.
