Yes, that would not remain on long. All I could do with that setup is to rub the tips back and forth with my thumbs kind of like sand papering them. Just attaching the string looks frustrating to me. I'd have to switch to a pair of tweezer-type nipple clamps. They not only attach effortlessly, but you can experiment with the intensity of the clamping and/or the slack of the nipple chain for further stimulation.

While others are suggesting quick clamps, I would quite enjoy applying the string. After doing so, wait until that pins and needles sensation starts due to restricted circulation. This would be the time that licks and a small vibe would be administered. When due for release, quick removal response would be delicious to watch.
