Small businesses in my town have not reopened, therefore the employees were not rehired by those employers. These small businesses closed and are now gone for good. I have met many of the ex-employees. They have found better paying jobs in larger businesses. It is a record job growth. The small businesses were forced to close during the Trump administration's mishandling of Covid.
