Of Thoughts of a Sub's Conscience While in general I consider myself a bit of a Switch, of late I have begun lean over the role submissive. Years ago I looked down at the role, and even under appreciate. Today, I look back and realize my opinion was based on lack of experience and fear of my own repressions. I know I could never be a slave - I'm just too hard headed - but I have learned to appreciate, and even embrace the role as service provides me so much joy and and needed balance.   |

"I know I could never be a slave - I'm just too hard headed" I think that statement indicates that even though a submissive posture might be attractive, you still want to be in control and so the Dominant side speaks out. It sounds like being in control is the catalyst, the motivator, the most comfortable role be it Top or bottom. This is something I have often thought about. Quite often Dominant men seek out submissive women and then want the submissive woman to perform dominant acts on them. So I ask myself why. I think it is a matter of being in control of some BDSM activity that they need. They need both sides of the coin. I am not addressing you, but speaking in general on something I have thought on long and hard for years. I toss it out here. I am not actually sure of what you are saying in his post. You are narrowing in on something and good luck in your pursuit manni.

manni As another switch who has gone back to being submssive , I know how you feel and I too, hope you are happy with whichever role you choose! Our minds tell us where to go.... I think your questions are valid. But recognizing that we sometimes want to cage and categorize everything into labels, the truth is that there may not be a conclusive answer as there may be as many as there are personalities. Labels are good to understand concepts, but when it comes to real life, different personalities may not always fall complete withing a text-book definition. I do believe that while it is always good to keep in mind labels for conceptual knowledge, it is more important to be open and willing to recognize and accept compatibility. I'm lean more towards being a sub, but I do have my limits. These limits however may be different to those of another sub or may be to much to some Doms. I do think I have too many limits to be a slave, but I also think I'm reasonable enough to serve a Doms needs while keeping my general comfort zone. Do I sometimes bend some of those limits? Yes, sometimes. I feel like I cannot, or would be very difficult for me to grow, but I do keep limits so I am comfortable enough to enjoy myself too. And as long as there is a fair Dom who finds me reasonable enough and can handle me and get satisfactory service out of me for their pleasure, and I know there are, then, then, I'm good to go as a sub.
