Disney: The cost of wokeness is not so magical In, 2021, the magic kingdom peaked at 201 a share. Now Disney stock is below 80 and thus earned the new title the tragic kingdom. Look at the math on this, the price fell 120 dollars a share. Disney has 1.83 Billion shares outstanding. In other words, Disney pissed away 219 Billion dollars in value. Just more proof that left wingers destroy everything they touch. This just cost 219 Billion and made a lot of 401Ks magically turn into a 201Ks. Wokeness is the new voodoo magic of the Tragic Kingdom. |

We went after it was just open, summer of 73. Orlando was a ghost town after 8 at night, nothing there....all being built. Lots in the park was still under construction. Would not even consider going back now at all. The kids enjoyed dizzyland much more.

Disney the theme park is fine. They (Disney) have lost oodles of money on overspending on sports. Most sports showing networks have seen this. Now that streamers are common place and not forced to pay 10 or 15 dollars a month for a channel, they pick elsewhere to view their sports. It will take eight more or so years for all the TV contracts to get off the books. If i was a floridian, i would be a little worried as Disney generates a lot of tax revenue. Desantis basically tried to steal the place and was basically put in his place but the damage done. There are loads of sports teams that travel to Florida from our area. Some will still go to Florida as it is easier to drive to than California and Arizona however everyone i know who has had camps in Florida and i am talking football, baseball, tennis, swimming, golf and you name it are all at least putting in provisional arrangements to go to Europe or other states. You will be happy to know that i will not be in Florida this year. Hope

Wokeness only lasts if people are willing. People generally have a short attention span. What was it, a week after Kid Rock was shooting buds with a rifle, he was seen drinking it? You misleadingly imply that the value of disney stock is dependent completely on their theme park in florida. Disney, as a multi level corporation is involved in many different entertainment medias. The value of their stock varies depending on a very wide variety of reasons and the biggest influence is their plans to double investment in its parks and cruises over the next decade. Their park attendance decline is more a part of the general decline in attendance to all similar parks and events. Their streaming business hasn't been a booming success. If your 401K is effected by one investment you need to change brokers!! If disney left florida, the states economy would be very close to collapse. desantis has backed off removing disneys special status when it was explained to him that the state and the counties, orange and osceola would have to pick up the tab for fire, police protection and road maintenance.
